~Iron~'s spaceShut up before I turn you back into a frog! Yet despite the look on my face, you keep talking! Thanks for visiting!
April 02 Aftermath of Spring breakIt's Monday, April 2nd. My favorite cousin Willie is 39 today. A reminder that in six months time, it'll be my turn to age one year closer to 40. The house is finally quiet! Robbie, Aurora and I are feeling a little "hungover" from overkill on having too much fun with their older siblings and my eldest s on's best friend. We are taking time to just kick back, vegitate in front of the TV, letting the affects from a week long rollercoaster ride fade away. Right now, we're in denial that we miss the havoc whirling around the house when everyone invaded our peaceful dwellings.
Taking time to drive over the still snow covered pass over the Cascades, it was worth the stress of stupid drivers driving like maniacs because someone else is going to beat them to their destination. Every mother should have a mom in law like mine who takes time to spend with her grandchildren. She's where I go to when I need to recuperate, relax, in general catch up on my sleep. Instead of hearing all the whining, the arguing and "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!!" all day long while we visit her, I hear "Grandma, Grandma, Grandma!!" and the ocassional "Grandpa!" They forget why it was so important to tattle on each other or have the last word with each other. The haven Grandma creates makes a week seem like such a short time. But this is just a taste of what's to come this summer!
So I grudgingly came back home Friday night because the "Superbowl" of WWE was on yesterday, Wrestlemania. Saturday was spent procrastinating on unpacking which was finally finished that night. It's just too bad I had to go shopping for yesterday's bbq otherwise I could've had it done earlier. ahahahahah! Right!
Hurray! It was great to see everyone work together and willing to help out when it was time to get ready for me to set up station at the grill. I had more prep cooks to know what to do with. My great Sous chef (my eldest son) stepped up to bat like he always does and helped keep the kitchen running smoothly and making sure my orders were followed out. In the end, we had little clean up, great food, even greater company to join us, John Cena kept his title, and I don't have to cook lunch today. Then the reality of home life will kick in as soon as the older kids get home from school today. <sigh> Two and a half months to go enduring the daily rut...uh? I mean routine! School will be out in June and once again I'll be MIA because I'll be outside enjoying the heat and sun of summer. Even more now that I've got a gas grill, a new tent, a bigger rig to be packing everyone in, books to read out in the sun, a yard to keep improving on every year. Who knows? The aftermath of Spring break might inspire me to have a garden this year. |
